A family of apartment-nomads in the 70's moves into Tinseltown and rediscovers the meaning of the "good life".
The quirky coming-of-age story unfolds like a well written play and features fine performance by Alan Arkin, Natasha Lyone and Marisa Tomei.
Essentially, the film is a sincere comedy and director Tamara Jenkins (The Savages) keeps it going at a brisk pace.
If you liked American Beauty, American Pie or Little Miss Sunshine, this is a terrific gem to check out.
